Day 01 : Paro to Thimphu (55km, 3 hours max)

Upon arrival you’ll be received by our professional biking guides and your support car driver who will help you pack up your suitcases into the car and present you the mountain bikes with the required gear. You could change at the airport and hit the road towards Thimphu. It is a comfortable stretch to get you in motion and visit the Memorial Chorten. Explore the town in the evening.

Day 02 : Easy biking around Thimphu

Bike up to the Buddha-point to see the largest statue of Buddha Doderma and continue biking to Tango and Cheri in northern Thimphu. A short hike to visit Tango monastery and drive back to Thimphu to visit the Folk Heritage Museum, the Zorig-Chusum Institute and the textile museum. Stroll around town in the evening.

Day 03 : Proceed to Wangdu

Proceed to Wangdue on the lateral highway. Ascend for 16 km to Dochula pass (3050m) and enjoy the panoramic views over the Himalayas. Descend all the way to Lobesa and bike through the village and paddy fields to visit ChhimiLhakhang. After lunch continue biking to Chuzomsa in Wangdue for 20km to reach your hotel.

Day 04 : Continue biking to Phobjikha

This is the first big climb of the trip.50 km of gradual uphill biking with 1500 metres of height gain brings you to the beautiful Phobjikha valley, which is host to the migrating black-necked cranes who come from the Tibetan Plateau.Option of camping next to the river with bonfire.

Day 05 : Rest day in Phobjikha

If you are in the winter, you can observe the endangered black-necked cranes from the observatory aided by a telescope and take a nature hike around this beautiful valley and visit the Ganteygompa temple. After lunch drive back to Punakha. Option of camping next to the river with bonfire.

Day 06 : Rewind your trip to Paro

After visiting the most beautiful fortress the PunakhaDzong, you’ll have to put your best performance for the ‘Last Fight’ as our guests have called it. Upscale the Dochulapass(3050m) with 45 km of gradual uphill biking followed by 15 km downhill to Semtokha and another 50 km of easy levelled road to Paro. Enjoy a celebratory toast and our value-added hot-stone bath (inclusive) in the evening as we understand you will be exhausted from the long ride.

Day 07 : Hike up to Tiger’s Nest

Hike up to Tiger’s Nest and visit the National Museum in the afternoon.

Day 08 : Depart from Paro

Early morning drive to Airport and board flight, wishing you safe journey and thanks for visiting Bhutan with us and wishing to visit Bhutan Again.
